Ireland's "Kings of the Airwaves" Rodge and Podge.
Podge and Rodge are probably the two most popular puppet characters in Ireland and host a top-rated T.V. show there called The Podge and Rodge Show. Created by by Ciaran Morrison and Mick O'Hara, Podge and Rodge parody Irish "chat shows" and host a program where they interview celebrities and do bizarre comedy bits like hamster races and sheep shearing competitions.
The show isn't broadcast outside Ireland, but thankfully there are lots of clips available on YouTube. Here are a few of my personal favourites:
Lots of people try to do foul-mouthed puppets for shock value, but Podge and Rodge are an example that works because they're both crude and hilarious (most attempts at this kind of thing are crude, but not very funny). I love how the author of this article about the two remarks "You know they are doing something right when a show interviews celebrities no one in the States have ever heard of and yet it still works for an American who gets culture shock in Pennsylvania."
