So who's buying ads like these for Muppet Wiki? They've been turning up in Google search results and Google AdWords pages for a little while now but no one seems to know who's behind it, especially the Muppet Wiki staff. They've started collecting the mysterious ads in the Wiki itself and seem pleasantly puzzled by the anonymous ad campaign.
My first thought was that perhaps Wikia - which hosts the Muppet Wiki - itself was buying the ads in an attempt to help boost traffic. The Muppet Wiki is one of the largest Wikia-hosted sites and Wikia/Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales has cited it as one of his favourites, but if Wikia is buying the ads they're not fessing up to it. So I guess we're left with a mystery....just who exactly is behind this?
