Several web sites pulled Muppet-themed pranks yesterday.
Yesterday was April Fool's Day, a day of the year that offers only one certainty...don't believe anything unusual you read on the internet.
I got emails from two people (they shall remain nameless to protect their dignity) who unknowingly got taken by a bogus story on Moviehole - Seth Rogen is Rowlf in new Muppet movie. I know it was only a joke, but the more I think about it the more I think Rogen's gravelly voice would be great for Rowlf (Seth Rogen played Rowlf in a sketch on SNL last October). Am I alone on this?
In other April Fool's news, if you tried clicking on any of the featured videos on YouTube yesterday you undoubtedly got Rickrolled (see NewTeeVee for a timeline history of the Rickrolling meme). My favourite variation of this prank was on Fark; they featured a link to a "Muppet blooper reel" that actually linked to this. Several social bookmarking sites like Digg and Reddit joined in the on fun and linked to the video as well.
After all, everybody loves Beaker!
