Kim Possible on Avenue Q

Voice artist/actor Christy Carlson Romano made her puppeteering debut in Avenue Q.

Here's another one of those neat puppetry/animation connections that seem to frequently pop up...Christy Carlson Romano - the voice of the popular Disney animated character Kim Possible - has been on Broadway puppeteering Kate Monster and Lucy the Slut in Avenue Q (roles originated by puppeteer Stephanie D'Abruzzo). Christy has been onstage since September 29th and her run is scheduled to continue until November 23rd.

Avenue Q in Swedish

Broadway's Avenue Q is coming to Stockholm with an all-new, all-Swedish production.

The Tony Award-winning puppet musical Avenue Q has been adapted in to Swedish. To promote Avenue Q's upcoming debut at Maximteatern in Stockholm the cast appeared on Swedish TV last Friday. You can watch two of the show's songs, It Sucks To Be Me and I Wish I Could Go Back To College in Swedish on YouTube. If you've seen the show in English it's a little surreal in Swedish, but it looks really good.

The Swedish production's puppeteer cast was trained (and the puppets were presumably built) by Rick Lyon, who built the puppets for and was a member of the original Broadway cast.

24/02/07 Update: The show opened in Stickholm a week ago and according to Puppet Buzz, despite Rick Lyon's involvement in the show it was Scandinavia's Effektstudion and not him that built the puppets for it.

Avenue Q on the Roof

The original Broadway cast of Avenue Q performs in Everyone's A Little Bit Jewish at a BC/EFA concert.

Everyone's a Little Bit Jewish is a fun theatrical Avenue Q/Fiddler on the Roof mash-up that was recorded at a Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS fund raising concert.
