More Muppets, it's been a Muppety week it seems...
MC is running a story on the long-rumoured Muppet reality TV show pilot. This isn't really "news" though, various puppeteers have been commenting in online forums since the fall that they were involved with a pilot for some kind of reality show over the summer and weren't able to talk about it. The only mystery was what the format of the proposed series was.
Now it seems we now, or at least we know a little more. According to various online reports the premise of the show is that the Muppet characters (Kermit, Gonzo, Piggy, etc.) would "audition" puppeteers to join the Muppets in an American Idol style format. No word on how "real" the show would be and whether or not this is actually an opportunity for aspiring Muppeteers. There's no way to know if the show will even ever air.
Disney in anxious to get the Muppets back out there - is reality TV the next logical step after a trip to Oz? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
