We Are The Stems is one of the best puppet films made last year. A 12 minute faux-documentary produced by the British filmmaking/puppetry collective Up At The Big House it aired on the UK's Channel 4 in December and is now available on the web.
"Ztems" does a nice job of blurring the line between fact and fiction, using the real (at least I think they're real) Finnish pop groups The Stems as the inspiration for a fly-on-the-wall documentary-style comedy that's reminescant of This Is Spinal Tap.
Puppeteer/designer Jonny Sabbagh and his partners at Up At The Big House are doing some of the coolest puppet film work in Britain these days. Hot Headed Chap and A Nice Day in Prison are two of their earlier films that are personal favourites of mine.
