Creating King Kong

I'm headed back to Canada just in time to pick up the latest copy of Wired - undisputedly the coolest magazine on the planet - which features Peter Jackson's upcoming remake of King Kong on the cover. The article focuses mostly on Jackson's decision to keep a weekly video blog documenting the production, warts and all. Several of the diaries focus on how the digital King Kong is being created using the unique blend of 3D animation, digital puppetry (ok, they call it "motion capture") and Andy Serkis that WETA Workshop perfected creating Golum for the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The 13.10 issue of Wired is now available on newsstands. You can check out all of Peter Jackson's production diaries over at KongisKing.net.
