Puppeteering on film or video is surprisingly hard on your body. It's amazing the damage you can do to oneself holding puppets over your head all day long. With that in mind it's not surprising that one of the most welcome faces on a film set for a puppeteer is the physical therapist or therapists that are often called upon to treat their aches, pains, and sore, injured muscles.
Debbie Moon is one of those therapists. A Shiatsu therapist in South London, she's worked for 15 years in the UK film industry, often on projects for the Jim Henson Creature Shop like the recent Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (see previous post).
