Channel 102 held it's monthly screening last night in New York and the results are in! Puppet Rapist - now the longest-reining series in Channel 102's short history - retained it's stranglehold on the lineup finishing at #1 again, followed closely by the night's other puppet-centric series, Cakey! which placed only four votes behind Puppet Rapist in second place.
To me, both these shows are excellent examples of how to use puppetry effectively on film and video. You couldn't really do either without puppetry, but it's the story that makes them interesting to watch. I can't wait to see April's episodes!
BTW, in case you're unfamiliar with Channel 102, each month they screen five-minute long TV shows in front of a live audience in New York City. The audience votes for their favourites and the top five shows become the new "prime time" lineup that returns to next month's screening with new episodes. The losers are banished forever. It's sort of like an entertainment version of Survivor.
