More on Late Night Buffet

Here's some new information about the new Late Night Buffet series that Jim Henson Productions is developing for TBS:

• The show is intended to be part of a new post 11 p.m. original programming block TBS is developing to compete with other cable fare like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report on Comedy Central and Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block.
• The show will be built around two puppets named Augustus Pfiffle and Delbert Kastle that will be performed by Brian Henson and Bill Barretta.
  
• The show will have a band made up of pet monkeys and a bandleader named Gina Cappellini.
• Much like The Muppet Show, all of the characters will be puppets, except for one human guest star in each episode.
• No Muppet characters will appear in the series.
• The show will be largely improvised.
• The previously mentioned taping next month is for the pilot episode.

The more I here about this project, the more interesting it sounds. I kind of like the idea of an improvised "live" puppet show on late night TV. Here's hoping TBS picks this up!
