I'm a big fan of illustrators...many a Monday here I've led off with the sentence "I really love the work of (insert name of illustrator here)" and I'm going to do it again because I really do love the work of Bryan Ballinger, a freelancer who works in both 2D and 3D to create fantastically fun illustrations for clients like Nintendo, Scholastic and Microsoft. He regularly posts new work in his Breadwig blog, including gems like this overview of how he created a recent Neanderthal illustration.
