The Web’s Niche Shows are Winning Sponsors

An article in the Wall Street Journal yesterday talked about how niche web shows are starting to attract sponsors. Some of the shows mentioned in the article are attracting decent sponsorship with relatively small, but loyal audiences of just 10,000 to 20,000 viewers. The key to getting sponsorship seems to be consistency and quality. According to the article, web advertisers are still leery of running their ads next to random user generated content on sites like YouTube, but are actively seeking out high quality video content to sponsor. If you produce a puppet podcast or web series (or you want to) the story is definitely worth a read.
